Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU)

Tara Kelly is Medicines Information Pharmacist with the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) where she is responsible for the maintenance of their National Health Product Catalogue (NHPC).

 

The NHPC contains professional information on licensed and unlicenced medicines available in Ireland and is used in community pharmacies as well as across a range of other healthcare providers including GPs, hospitals, and health insurers.  

 

Before joining the IPU, Tara held various positions in community pharmacy and also worked with the Health Products Regulatory Agency (HPRA) as a Pharmaceutical Assessor. As part of her current role with the IPU, Tara is a regular contributor of articles for the monthly pharmacy publication, the IPU Review, and has been instrumental in the role out of the Safe Pharmacy service in Ireland.
