Deirdre (Dee) O’Connor has over 20 years’ experience leading complex and high-profile IT projects both in the public and private sector.
Dee spent 10 years implementing strategic eHealth programmes of work in Australia, including the national Shared Care Record (MyHealthRecord), national provider identifiers and patient portal for ACT Health Canberra, and then the enterprise EHR implementations in Melbourne Australia. She was key to the successful delivery of the EHR at the Royal Children’s Hospital (320 beds/3800 staff) and then the extension of the same instance of the RCH EHR to three additional hospitals in the Parkville Biomedical & Research Precinct, the Royal Melbourne, Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Women’s and Children’s (940 beds/11,800 staff).
Dee joined Children’s Health Ireland in early 2020 to lead and deliver the Digital Health Programme for the new children’s hospital, including sub programmes of EHR and Infrastructure.
