Joe McCann is the Founder and CEO of  Intercept Technologies, named  Cybersecurity Firm of the Year 2024. With a career dedicated to strengthening the intersection of cybersecurity and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), Joe is recognized as a leading voice in regulatory-driven cybersecurity innovation.

He is also the Co-Founder of Crypto Assets Ireland, created to support the emergence of the EU’s MiCA regulation (Markets in Crypto-Assets) and to provide a knowledge base for firms seeking authorisation by central banks.

At Intercept, Joe’s vision is to demystify the “black magic” of cybersecurity by building strategic partnerships that deliver measurable value to boards, C-suites, and regulated firms. Under his leadership, Intercept has become Ireland’s first “offensive prevention first” security firm, guiding organizations through regulatory frameworks including  MiCA, DORA, NIS2, CRA, CSA, GDPR, PCI DSS, and the EU AI Act.
